Yes. We use a holistic review process. While a minimum GPA of 2.0 is preferred, we understand that life circumstances can affect academic performance. The personal statement is a great opportunity to share your story, experiences, and goals.
Students must be current high school seniors. If you are taking a gap year, you may not be eligible unless otherwise stated in the scholarship guidelines.
While we recognize AI tools can support writing, your essay should reflect your own voice and story. Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT) should not be used to write or draft the essay. Grammar and editing tools (e.g., Grammarly) are allowed for proofreading and clarity.
If the scholarship is open to repeat applicants, you may reapply as long as you still meet eligibility criteria. Check the current year's requirements for details.
No. Late applications will not be accepted in fairness to those who submitted on time.
Yes. The scholarship may be applied to any accredited college or university in the U.S. We encourage you to check with your school’s financial aid office regarding their process for external scholarships. If specific information is needed in the award letter, contact us at scholarships@FG2Next.org.
No. Students from any U.S. high school may apply.
This varies based on funding and the applicant pool. We aim to award as many deserving students as possible.
Contact your school’s main office, registrar, or academic counselor. They will assist you in requesting and obtaining your transcript.
Funds will be sent directly to the accredited U.S. college or university you choose to attend. Disbursement occurs after enrollment is confirmed for your first semester.
Applicants must be high school seniors at the time of applying. Age is not a determining factor in the selection process. However, if you are under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must sign a consent form for your application to be eligible.
No. The Legacy Forward Scholarship is not based on household income or financial need.
