Meet Sha'Tara Thomas who was awarded the 2025 Legacy Forward Scholarship!

Where I have been and where I am going?

Sha'Tara Thomas lived in Ferriday, Louisiana during her high school years. Attending Ferriday High School, she was an outstanding student. In high school, she balanced dance, track, and academics. Her leadership and discipline showed up in athletics and in the classroom.

With big dreams of helping others, Sha'Tara Thomas aspires to be a Nurse. As a first- generation college student, she has hopes to get the most out of her college years, not just for herself but to impact others.

What are you most looking forward to as you begin your college journey?

Sha'Tara is excited to build meaningful connections with peers and professionals in the medical field as she continues exploring her long-term career goals. She views college as an opportunity to expand her perspective, meet individuals from diverse backgrounds, and grow both academically and personally through new experiences.
