Legacy Forward Scholarship Timeline: Your Guide to Staying on Track
Stay on track with the Legacy Forward Scholarship timeline. From recommendations to transcripts, follow these key milestones to submit a strong application by the February 1, 2026 deadline.
Applying for scholarships can feel overwhelming, but with the right plan, you can move through the process with confidence. To support you, we’ve laid out the Legacy Forward Scholarship (LFS) timeline. Think of it as your roadmap—each milestone helps you stay organized and on top of your scholarship journey.
While only the application deadline is fixed, the other dates are suggested checkpoints designed to keep you on track.
September 30, 2025 — Application Opens
Start strong! Review the eligibility requirements, gather basic information, and outline what materials you’ll need. This is the perfect time to create a checklist.
October 20, 2025 — Ask for Recommendations
Strong recommendation letters take time. Ask your teachers, mentors, or community leaders at least three weeks before the deadline. Give them clear instructions and a copy of your resume or activities list to help them write a thoughtful letter.
November 15, 2025 — Request Transcripts
Some schools take longer to process transcript requests. Don’t wait until the last minute—submit your request early to ensure your transcripts arrive on time.
December 15, 2025 — Complete Personal Statement
Your personal statement is your chance to tell your story. Aim to finish your first draft well before the holiday break. This gives you plenty of time to reflect, edit, and ask for feedback.
January 15, 2026 — Final Review
By mid-January, double-check that all pieces are in place: recommendations, transcripts, personal statement, and any additional forms. This “final review” step helps you avoid last-minute stress.
February 1, 2026 — Application Deadline
The big day! All application materials must be submitted by 11:59 PM CST. Celebrate your hard work—you’ve invested in your future.
✨ Pro Tip: Set calendar reminders for each milestone so you don’t miss a step. Staying ahead makes the process smoother and less stressful.
The Legacy Forward Scholarship is your opportunity to take the next step in your educational journey.
